Our resident tutor - Jacqui Wilkes
I've been resident tutor for Art in Adlington since it started in 2005.
My background is in teaching art and design in Further Education, which I did for quite a number of years.
I've also had a couple of one-man exhibitions, displaying over thirty pieces of work each time.
I'm a member of the Society for All Artists (SAA) teaching bank for Lancashire and Yorkshire.
Our sessions use different techniques, fine art with unusual and differing subject matter. We use a variety of mediums, including watercolour, acrylics, pastels and water-based oil paints.
Occasionally we experiment with new products and styles.
I usually suggest a subject each term but members are free to do their own thing.
I thoroughly enjoy my AinA sessions as we have a lovely, friendly group who produce some excellent pieces of work.
New members (aged over 18) are always welcome. Sessions are held in Fairview Youth & Community Centre/Highfield Rd North, Adlington, Chorley PR6 9RN.
If you are interested in joining our friendly group please use the link on our contact page to message us in Facebook. We look forward to hearing from you!
The group is managed by a committee of volunteers. They organise the sessions at Fairview, coordinate exhibitions, book visiting artists, manage membership details, order supplies and refreshments, publicise the group through the website and local press and deal with the money involved.
The full committee for 2025/26 voted in at the AGM in February is Tony Ryder (Chair), Phil Smidowicz (Secretary), Richard Noone (Treasurer), Jeannette Cliffe, Gill Smith, Lynda Finney and Viv Newman.
